I’m a California-girl turned New Yorker who has been diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis (2010), Hashimoto’s (2010) and Crohn’s Disease (2015).
Growing up as a competitive dancer, I was always active and have been determined to not let these diagnoses slow me down. Around 2014, I started to really get in to fitness and began making small tweaks (which led to big changes!) to my diet and lifestyle that I believe have made all the difference in helping me manage my conditions and live the life I want. I believe that we all can still live health- and wellness-filled lifestyles, albeit with some modifications, regardless of what’s happening inside our bodies. We still have control when our body revolts – we just have to remind it whose boss!
One of my biggest goals is to help all of us chronic illness warriors realize we’re not alone. Normalizing the conversation is necessary and it is up to us to do so!
Follow along with my journey and please share yours too! But, please remember that we all have different experiences, symptoms and life circumstances -- so please be respectful of others.

Brittany
P.S. I am by no means a doctor or nutritionist. I am a fitness, health and wellness enthusiast who seeks the advice of dieticians, physicians and licensed fitness professionals on a regular basis. Please consult those professionals before making any changes to your current routine and reach out with any questions or concerns.
Dogs all the way – and large breeds at that! I grew up with an Old English Sheep Dog and a Labrador/Great Dane mix.
It depends on if I’m trying to be healthy or indulge a little bit but I truly love to cook everything.
The beach, the lake, a pool – basically anywhere that has sun and a body of water is all I really need in life 😊
I’m definitely a sweets girl! I love warm chocolate chips cookies, chocolate cupcakes and mint chocolate chip ice cream… I think there’s a theme!
I’m not a big drinker anymore, but I love red wine with food or a casual girls night. If I’m feeling a little more feisty, I love a good-quality tequila or mezcal.
This is a tie between Positano, Italy and Sao Paulo, Brazil. Two magical experiences that opened me up to so much.
Australia and New Zealand!
My mom and my grandmother. Both are very strong career-oriented women who have always shown what strength is.
